Alumni Program

Hero

At Southeast Addiction Center Tennessee, we regard community as a valuable principle. 12-step programs, like AA, have sponsors. No one should travel the road to recovery alone. Instinctively, humans have a need to share our stories. We possess an innate craving to feel genuinely known by someone. It helps to have someone in your corner. Especially if that person has walked a road similar to yours. That person would be familiar with hazards along the way. They could offer wisdom to those who come after them.

For this reason, Southeast Addiction Center Tennessee offers an alumni program. We reserve it for those who graduate from our drug and alcohol treatment program.

The Alumni Program and Staying Connected

Drug and alcohol treatment programs only thrive when they touch lives. At Southeast, we strive to maintain ties with our alumni. These connections help clients continue the recovery process they began under our care. They also contribute to the recovery of others. Connection and fellowship represent core principles in recovery. They serve to strengthen and inspire. Our alumni program endeavors to build bridges between those we have helped in the past and those we help today.

How Does An Alumni Program Related to Treatment?

Southeast Addiction has a professional staff of superior quality. They can offer empathy, compassion, and helpful reflections. But people who have walked the road of recovery themselves have a specific kind of insight. An alumnus doesn’t just assist someone experiencing withdrawal. No, someone in our alumni program knows how withdrawal feels. They’ve walked the walk. So, they can talk the talk. Gleaning wisdom from an alumnus makes an incredible difference. It might mean one more day of recovery for someone in desperate need.

At Southeast Addiction Center Tennessee, we regard community as a valuable principle. 12-step programs, like AA, have sponsors, and we believe that each of our clients deserves to feel the same sense of community even if they choose not to continue working through their 12-step program. No one should travel the road to recovery alone. Instinctively, humans have a need to share stories. We possess an innate craving to feel genuinely known by someone. When it comes to addiction recovery, it helps to have someone in your corner, especially if that person has walked a road similar to yours. That person would be familiar with hazards along the way and could offer wisdom to those who come after them.

Here at Southeast Addiction, we offer an alumni program that is meant to keep each of our clients connected once they have completed our program and have moved on to living a fulfilling life of sobriety. We reserve this program for our clients who graduate from our drug and alcohol treatment program or have successfully completed our drug and alcohol detox program. If you have and are interested to learn more about how you can stay connected, keep reading for information about our alumni program.

Our Alumni Program and Staying Connected

Drug and alcohol treatment programs only thrive when they touch lives. At Southeast, we strive to maintain long-term ties with our alumni. Not only do these connections help our clients continue the recovery process that they began under our care, but they also contribute to the successful recovery of others. Connection and fellowship represent core principles in the recovery process, and we aim to implement those values into each of our current and previous client’s lives.

Our alumni program endeavors to build bridges between those we have helped in the past and those we help today. We seek to keep our clients connected, to continue providing support, and to bring them a sense of belonging and a sense of community. Through our alumni program, we are able to achieve this. Our clients are able to remain connected to us while working closely with current clients to provide support, guidance, and friendship.

How Does An Alumni Program Relate to Treatment?

Though we pride ourselves on our professional staff of superior quality, we understand that there is a special bond created between two people who have experienced recovery despite suffering through addiction. Our treatment teams can offer empathy, compassion, and helpful reflections, but people who have walked the road of recovery themselves have a specific kind of insight.

An alumnus doesn’t just assist someone experiencing withdrawal. No, someone in our alumni program knows how withdrawal feels. They’ve walked the walk. So, they can talk the talk. Gleaning wisdom from an alumnus makes an incredible difference. It might mean one more day of recovery for someone in desperate need and can provide a safe haven for those in immediate crisis throughout their recovery.

What Traits Does The Alumni Program Look For?

Southeast Addiction requires a lot of our alumni. We demand reliable people. An alumnus must commit to showing up when needed. And for that matter, an alumnus ought to show up early. Southeast’s clients need alumni they can depend on because the threat of a crisis won’t wait for anyone.

To become an alumnus, you must prove that you can uphold that responsibility and be a resource for our clients who are still in treatment. Those in recovery have likely endured betrayal, abuse, and all manner of trauma. To folks in these circumstances, trusting others does not come easy. If an alumnus gives their word, they must keep it. Clients bank on alumni staying true to their words.

If this sounds like you, we want to know. The value of becoming a leader to people who are currently where you once were is also helpful in maintaining your sobriety. We want you to join our alumni program and help make a difference in the lives of those around you.

Join The Southeast Addiction Alumni Program

If the above traits describe you, Southeast Addiction wants to know more. We will take all the help we can get. The COVID-19 pandemic brought a host of new challenges into the recovery field. Worldwide, our collective mental health paid a terrible toll. Lockdown isolated us from meaningful relationships. Unfortunately, the coronavirus threw many off the road to recovery. We also saw an increase in people using drugs during the pandemic to self-medicate their newfound depression, anxiety, or other behavioral health conditions caused by this pandemic.

If you are interested in becoming a leader in your community that is willing to help those who now stand where you once stood, please contact us today. We remember you, we remember your strength as you battled addiction, and we will gladly welcome you back with open arms as you prepare to help others.

How Can I Meet Someone From The Alumni Program?

If you’re reading this, know that you are not alone. Here at Southeast Addiction, we see you. And we want you to know that there are people waiting to help you, to support you, to provide a sense of belonging and care that you may need while navigating through this journey.

If you’re struggling right now, don’t keep waiting. Drop us an email or give us a call. That marks your first step toward your recovery journey and your first step toward a future of helping people just like you–people who need support from someone who understands their struggle and understands where they are coming from.

Our Treatment Programs Are Only The Beginning

Recovery is a lifelong journey and much of the work happens after treatment. We can help you get sober, we can help you learn coping skills, and we can help you delve deep into the core cause of your drug or alcohol abuse. But once you leave our program, we have very little say on what you choose to do with your sobriety. Our hope is that you continue the work and fight every single day to stay sober. Our hope is that you turn and help the next person who is struggling.

Once you leave our program, your life is your own. What you choose to do with it is completely up to you. This is one of the reasons why a robust alumni program is so important to success. Our alumni program connects past and present clients. It ensures that anyone who is in need of support receives it, regardless of which step in their recovery journey they’re at.

Call us today to join our alumni program or to find an alumni who is ready to help support you in your sobriety. We want to connect you to a community of people just like you, a community who has experienced the loss, the suffering, and the loneliness caused by addiction. Call us today. We are here to help.
