Naltrexone helps people suffering from opioid use disorder (OUD). You might hear the term “opioid antagonist.” That means that Vivitrol stops opioids from being absorbed in the brain. Additionally, Vivitrol helps those struggling with alcohol use disorder (AUD).
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) at Southeast involves Vivitrol. MAT has proven more effective at treating substance use disorders than therapy alone.
