About Dr. Elizabeth
Dr. Elizabeth Lumpkin is an anesthesiologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Much of her career was spent as a locum tenens physician, practicing nationwide from Alaska to Maine. She has also dedicated time to global service through multiple medical missions in Ecuador and with Mercy Ships in Congo, Cameroon, Senegal, and Madagascar.
For the past eight years, Dr. Lumpkin has combined her medical background with her passion for communication as a medical content editor for Southeast Addiction Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Her work began with the publication of Road Warrior Physician, a practical guide that helps healthcare professionals understand and navigate locum tenens careers.
Dr. Lumpkin received her medical degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia and completed her anesthesiology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She went on to complete a fellowship in regional anesthesiology at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
