Marian is a highly accomplished individual with experience in education and corporate operations. She holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, Administration, and Human Development from Georgia Southern University, along with three English degrees and a Master’s degree in Media and Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia. Her career includes serving as a senior executive at two Atlanta-based marketing and management firms, as well as a member of the senior leadership team for two Ed Tech companies.
In addition, Marian is a distinguished educator with 18 years of experience, currently serving as an Associate Professor of English at two universities. She is a published author of academic articles and research-based studies specializing in imposter syndrome, online learning, and minority women in higher education. Over the last 15 years, Marian has written professionally for several academic journals, websites, blogs, and social media platforms.
Besides her professional accomplishments, Marian is an avid traveler and enjoys experiencing new cultures with her husband, Carl, and their two children, Kingston and Marlee. When she’s not reading, researching, and writing, Marian enjoys exploring new destinations, further honing her intellectual pursuits. Their travels have taken them to more than a dozen countries abroad and throughout North America.
