Oxycodone Addiction Treatment in Nashville, TN

Hero
Oxycodone, also known as OxyContin, is a prescription painkiller that is often used to treat intense and long-term pain. Though it has been a helpful medication, it is incredibly addictive and has led to an increasing number of deaths due to overdose. In 2020, approximately 70,000 men and women died due to an opioid overdose. Our oxycodone addiction treatment program in Nashville, TN is fully equipped to deal with individuals suffering from this devastating addiction.

Oxycodone Abuse: What Does It Look Like?

Studies have found that nearly 1 million Americans over the age of 12 have used or abused OxyContin at least once in their life. On top of that, the current prescription rate of opioids is approximately 43.3 prescriptions per 100 people, but some claim that this rate is actually higher. These numbers are shocking and indicate a deeper issue within this country’s access to addictive drugs, but because they are so accessible and legal, they are easily abused. If you or a loved one are suffering from oxycodone abuse, call today to receive the help you deserve.

When a person is addicted to a legal substance that they have been prescribed, it can be incredibly difficult to determine whether or not there is cause for concern. But there are ways, both physical and mental, that can help you or your loved one determine whether or not opioid abuse is taking place.

Symptoms of Use

Struggling with oxycodone addiction can take many shapes and sizes. Behaviorally, a person may display a few of the following:

  • New and habitual absences from school, work, or other obligations
  • Borrowing or stealing money to buy more
  • Doctor shopping when previous doctors refuse to refill prescriptions
  • A decrease in work or school performance
  • Lying or being more secretive
  • Finding oxycodone in illegal ways

Some of the more physical symptoms a person may experience when abusing oxycodone include issues with coordination, numbness to pain, itching, weight loss, shallow breathing, and drowsiness. Users may also experience:

  • Impaired memory
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Increased anxiety
  • Anger
  • Panic or paranoia
  • Mood swings

Oxycodone Overdose

An oxycodone overdose can lead to death, so it is critical to understand what the symptoms are and how to best address them. If you feel like you or a loved one are suffering from an opioid overdose, seek medical help immediately. An overdose may include the following symptoms:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Blue tint to the skin, lips, or fingers
  • Shallow breathing
  • Disorientation
  • Confusion
  • Slowed heartbeat

Oxycodone Drug Treatment Programs

The first step in drug addiction recovery is admitting that there is a problem in the first place. It is imperative to seek help for a substance use disorder as soon as possible. Here at Southeast Addiction Center in Nashville, Tennessee, we offer a wide variety of addiction treatment programs and services that are designed to address your specific needs.

We understand that addiction often involves underlying mental health conditions, otherwise known as a dual diagnosis. Because of this, our services work to address the entire client as a whole in order to create the most effective treatment program possible. Our clients will be able to choose from our partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient treatment. Though we do not offer detox services at our facility to address withdrawal symptoms, we will connect you to a trusted program should you require detoxification prior to enrollment at our Nashville drug rehab center.

Partial Hospitalization

In PHP, clients will participate in an entire day of substance abuse treatment at our opioid drug rehab, but they will be allowed to sleep in their own homes. This level of care is meant to provide intensive treatment that is one step below inpatient care.

Though each schedule may differ depending on the specific needs of each client, services will run for several hours throughout the day, totaling 30 hours at minimum each week. They may include:

  • Group Therapy
  • Individual Therapy
  • Medication Management
  • Aftercare Support
  • 12-Step Meetings
  • Medication Assisted Treatment

All of our services are evidence-based, ensuring that each service is effective and backed by scientific research. We may also offer a variety of holistic services if we feel that those will help meet your needs.

Intensive Outpatient Program

IOP is a step down from PHP, requiring clients to only participate in a few hours of treatment each day. Because of this and because of the severity of oxycodone addiction, we recommend this after clients participate in PHP. But, we also understand that not every person can put their life on hold in order to receive treatment, so we have developed our IOP treatment plans to be intensive while also allowing for more flexibility.

Outpatient Care

We do not recommend outpatient treatment as the first step for our clients’ opioid addiction treatment services, but we do feel that it is a necessary aftercare resource that can help to bridge the gap between rehab and outside life. Outpatient care can include as many or as few hours of treatment as a client wishes to participate in.

Typically, our clients will continue seeing their individual therapist to continue behavioral therapy that addresses both the underlying conditions and co-occurring drug abuse, and they will participate in various groups or 12-step meetings to maintain sobriety long-term. Other services may also be available depending not the specific individual.
